At times my thoughts are running too fast for me to even hope to keep up with them. Sometimes the world spins seemingly too fast for my heart to keep time.
I have learned that I need to be kind to myself.
At times like these there is much remedy to be found in quiet moments of calm in nature.
There is such pleasure to be gained in closing my eyes and soaking up the sun’s warmth.
These are the times to let the noises of the natural world build to a crescendo and drown out any and all screaming thoughts of anxiety.
I do not live by the sea, but ensure that at least ten minutes of my morning are spent standing on my back door step, eyes closed, feeling the sun and letting all the birdsong from my tiny garden drown out darkness. Try it with a cup of tea, I recommend it!
