I feel like such a magpie in SL. I can’t help collecting beautiful things, especially when I know I can throw them all together and build a place of peace. I do add to my increasingly expanding inventory, but also find that some old favourites are items that I use over and over in my décor.
In the mists of SLtime I spent a lot of my time building. I am pretty sure I never outgrew the attraction of creating ‘homes’ with lego. As soon as mesh arrived SL looked so much better, and although now and then people suggest I should learn how to build in mesh, I feel much happier allowing those who have perfected those skills to be the ones I benefit from. That said, I am always modifying things, and truly cherish those home-creators who allow this. In many of the pictures of my SL homes, Scarlet Creative’s builds are very evident. This is because they are able to be modified a little, and I am able to stretch and alter parts to suit exactly what I am after. Right now I am living in the Charlotte’s Corner houseboat from Scarlet Creative, but have added decking and altered parts so it may not always look exactly as it comes packaged from the store. It truly is a gorgeous build though, and P E R F E C T for my little berth in Second Norway.
Just because it’s a houseboat doesn’t mean it can’t be filled with plants, huh. The light shines through a pergola… which happens to be one I took from another Scarlet Creative build, and it casts lovely shadows over the décor beneath.
